A new approach to Worship, 10:30 a.m. on 3rd Sundays at Holy Trinity Ashby.
Starting on Sunday 17 March 2019, we will be taking a new approach to our worship together. We will have a simplified service structure, time to respond to the promptings of the Holy Spirit and a longer time of teaching and study.
Would you prepare for this new Deeper experience of our Sunday worship?
By reading and studying the passage we will be looking at you can come prepared to learn.
By listening to and learning the songs we will be using you can enter, more freely, into our sung worship.
By considering the question for the month, you can bring your own experience and gathered wisdom to bear on the challenges we face.
Published on the first Sunday of the month, you will be able to find - on this page - the Bible Reading, Songs and Question for the 3rd Sunday of the month ahead.
Sunday 17 March 2019
For our first month we will be looking at the New Testament reading from the CofE Lectionary:
17 Join together in following my example, brothers and sisters, and just as you have us as a model, keep your eyes on those who live as we do. 18 For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. 19 Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things. 20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Saviour from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.
Closing appeal for steadfastness and unity
4 Therefore, my brothers and sisters, you whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way, dear friends!
