Baptisms
Baptism (also known as 'Christening') is a very special event in the life of a child or an adult.
We are delighted that you are interested in finding out about Baptisms at St Helen’s! Baptism formally marks a new beginning – the beginning of a life long journey… knowing God as your loving heavenly Father and looking to Jesus as your saviour and model and guide! When a baby or young child is baptised, their parents and godparents and the whole congregation dedicate themselves to do all that they can to help the young one come to know God personally. When a young person or adult is baptised, they are making a public declaration that they are a Christian – a follower of Jesus! A Baptism service also reminds each of us of the Christian story and invites us to make that story even more part of our life story! That’s why St Helen’s is delighted that you are interested in finding out more about Baptism!
