  • Mosaic - 12th October at 7.30pm
The eight-voice A Cappella group, MOSAIC, will perform a concert of Songs of Remembrance, Songs of Love on Friday, 12th October in St Helen’s Church, Ashby. The first half of their programme is devoted to music, marking the end of the First World War, by composers from each of the countries engaged in this bitter and costly conflict. Next to pieces by Parry, Tomkins, Byrd, Foulds, Guest and Griffin, there are beautiful a cappella settings by Duruflé, Rachmaninov, Pizzetti and Rheinberger. The second half of the programme has a contemporary, popular flavour and includes settings of music by Lennon and McCartney, Hoagy Carmichael, Kate Rusby and Kurt Weill, among others.
