New to Church?

Gates half closed

Welcome! Whether you've just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life, we hope our website helps you to find out everything you want to know about our Church.

Key information about the church...

Where & when does the church meet?

We meet regularly on Sundays at 8.30am and 10.30am and on Wednesday mornings at 10.00am. Please find more details here on our Sunday Services.

The church is on Lower Church Street in the centre of Ashby de-la Zouch, LE65 1AB. We suggest you aim to arrive at least 15 minutes before the service starts to allow plenty of time to park.

You can see a map showing the church location on our contact us page

Please click here for a more detailed map of parking in the surrounding streets.

What should I expect when I visit the church?

You will receive a very warm welcome at the door, where you can ask any questions you have before taking your seat.
We have different styles of service at St. Helen's, but all will involve some singing, some praying and some teaching from the Bible.

The service lasts for about 60-75 minutes and after the service, tea, coffee and biscuits are served - an ideal opportunity to get to know people a little better.

What happens to the children and young people at the Church?

We like to see children and young people at St. Helen's.

Children come into church with their parents and go to their groups when announced, re-joining everyone before the end of the service. The groups are:

Lanterns: (for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2).
Meet in the Community Heritage Centre during services.
PRG: (for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4)
Meet in the Priest Room during one Sunday service and also on one Thursday evening a month.
The Choir: many of our young people are members of our choir

We have toy bags for very young children and a play area in church where you are welcome to sit with your children during the service.

If you are visiting during the week, why not use one of our heritage activity bags for your youngsters?

For more information about what happens in the children's work please visit our page on children and young people.

Is there a dress code?

No! Please just be yourself and come dressed in your 'normal' clothes.

Will I have to join in?

Not at all! We do sing and pray together, but you can join in as much (or as little) as feels comfortable for you.

I have more questions, how can I get in touch and ask them.

Please feel free to contact us.
