• Ashby Foodbank - Are you looking for a few hours to either pack parcels, make tea, talk to clients or donate money or food items to Ashby Food Bank? 
• Ashby Street Pastors - For the last 10 years St Helen’s has actively supported the work of the Ashby Street Pastors with regular prayer, finance and helping individual members of the congregation discern their calling to become Street Pastors.
• Prayer Partners - organised by the St Helen's branch of the Mothers Union an adult member of the congregation is paired with a child and is encouraged to pray regularly for the child prayer partner, take a general interest in the child's well-being and journey in faith. The hope being that over the years, this mutually caring relationship will develop into a nurturing and rewarding experience on both sides. 
• Bellringers - a team activity that stimulates the brain and helps you to keep fit...it also makes a glorious sound. Many bell ringers consider ringing to be their contribution to church life, others do it for the pure pleasure it brings.
• Christians Against Poverty
• Cleaning Team - Once a month two volunteers out of a group of about ten meet on a Friday or Saturday morning  to sweep, vacuum , polish brass and dust the pews aiming to keep St. Helen's in a clean and welcoming state for all who enter the church. The skills required for those who feel they might like to  join the team are just like those in the home but arguably  the larger area involved results in a particularly satisfying feeling for just one hour's activity. In the spring and autumn there is a more extensive day of activity when  the call is made for extra volunteers to ensure the church is looking especially cared for at key dates in the church calendar.
• Flowers in Church - St. Helen's has a long tradition of giving a sunny welcome to all who step into our lovely Church. We have a weekly rota for flowers throughout the year and have a real splash at Christmas, Easter and Harvest. New arrangers are always welcome.
• Heritage Volunteers & Guides - There's a volunteer role to suit everyone. We need event helpers for both adult and children's events, refreshment makers, welcomers in both Church and Heritage Centre and historical researchers to help us to build our knowledge about our wonderful site. We welcome regular Tour groups to the Church and Heritage Centre and are always happy to add to our team of tour guides, each of whom has an area of particular interest. 
• Home communion - 'Out of sight, out of mind?' not as far as St Helen's is concerned! For those who are no longer able to get to church on Sundays, a small team counts it as a privilege to make home visits and to bring communion to care homes and other retirement communities in and around Ashby. Whether a long-standing member of St. Helen's or a new arrival, we will be glad to visit - just get in touch.

• Ministry to Fernleigh Care Home & to Prior Park - Prior Park has a monthly communion attended by about 15 people, Fernleigh has a monthly communion, and several people enjoy a more frequent communion in their home. 
• Mission Task Force
• Mothers' Union - MU is a global Christian charity that has been providing a support network for families since it was founded by Mary Sumner in 1876

• Sound Team - The Sound Team aims to make major services and events accessible to all by providing clear audio. The team operates a modern sound desk at main services and undertakes maintenance and enhancement to the system to ensure continued operation. We are always looking for interested bodies to join our team.
• 'Tea Time' at Prior Park (sheltered / retirement / supported housing for older people) - once a month on a Saturday from 3.00 pm in winter and 3.30 pm in the summer. Everyone is welcome and it offers an opportunity for people to form and deepen friendships, share fellowship and enjoy each others company over tea and delicious home made cakes. There is no charge. 
• Gardening Team - The churchyard gardens were replanted in 2019 and are admired and enjoyed by those who walk through them. A group of volunteers regularly mow, weed and trim to keep them looking beautiful. To the rear of the Heritage Centre we are creating a new community garden – a peaceful child and nature friendly space for all to enjoy. If you have green fingers or just like being outdoors then do come and help us maintain these special spaces.
• All Age Worship Music Group
• Buildings Group - Our lovely historic church needs a lot of routine repair and maintenance as well a bigger projects to enhance and preserve the building for future generations. Our Buildings Group oversees this work on behalf of the PCC, with the support of  our Church Architect and the help of a lot of willing volunteers. The group also looks after the more modern Community Heritage Centre to ensure it is in good order for all who use it. There is much to do and the work is often practical, but challenging and rewarding in equal measure.
• Events and Activities Team - The EAT team creates a varied calendar of events and activities throughout the year and work with event champions and volunteers to deliver these for our church family and wider community to enjoy. These might be inspired by church seasons, our history and heritage, music, crafts and learning new skills – but they are always fun and usually involve cake!  Some of our popular events are concerts, school holiday workshops, church fete, and exhibitions – check the What’s On page for details.
• School Holiday Workshop - We hold various workshops for primary aged children during most school holidays. Have a look at some of our previous activities.
