Priest Room Gang
Our young people are a really important part of our church family. We have a group called the Priest Room Gang so called as the group often meets in the priest room above the church vestry.
The PRG is a group for young people between the ages of 11 and 18 years. Our young people come together sometimes in service time and every third Thursday of the month, sometimes more often. The Thursday meetings are in our Community Heritage Centre from 5.00 pm - 6.30 pm. The meetings always start with the preparation and sharing of food and an important part of PRG is hospitality supporting and serving others. There are so many references to hospitality in the Bible.
The PRG will contribute to our services, so being a visible part of our worship. There is time spent in Bible study and how it relates to our modern lives today. Other activities include joining residents in our Care homes to sing carols, thinking about those in prison and sending Christmas cards to some prisoners. There is also a thriving knitting group which came from a project to knit scarves and hats for those who may be homeless or on the streets.
The group has a high reputation itself as a Brunch team.
Come and join us as either a young person yourself or if you would like to be a leader or supporter.
All we ask is a donation towards the costs, but the most important thing is that you come and join us.
